Who it’s for
Cafés, restaurants, bars, hotels — and any team that works in shifts

First the honest part: ResDiary is well built. It genuinely charges no per-cover commission — rare in this category. It connects to a long list of tills and hotel PMSs, its table plan is graphical and mature, and its yield management works with deposits to push no-shows down in a way we do not come close to. If you run a fine-dining address with a full book and a hotel PMS beside it, ResDiary is probably the better reservation system. That is not politeness, it is simply true.

Only: it is a reservation system. We take those same bookings, and on the free plan they cost €0. What is not in ResDiary is everything that starts once the guest is inside: your team’s schedule, the time clock, the opening and closing list, and the order that has to go to the supplier. Those are not thin modules over there. They do not exist.

ResDiary stops at the booking. We take the other side too.

Everything ResDiary does happens before the guest sits down: the slot, the table, the deposit, the confirmation, the waitlist, the guest profile. Everything that happens after that happens in your venue with no software at all: who starts at five, who is late, who is still free on Saturday, whether the fridges were checked, and what has to be ordered from the supplier on Thursday.

At SuperHoreca all of it lives in one system, on that same free plan: a drag-and-drop weekly schedule, availability and shift swaps, opening and closing tasks that get ticked off, orders that leave as email to your supplier, and a time clock on a QR tablet or on your staff member’s own phone. The reservations sit in that same screen, so tonight’s team sees on their own schedule how many covers are coming.

In Belgium that clock is more than a convenience. The government wants to make time registration mandatory in hospitality by 2027 — it is not law yet, and anyone telling you otherwise is running ahead of the facts. But the punch itself is in every plan here, the free one included, precisely because it is the base the rest rests on: clocked hours against planned hours, and a labour-cost report that calculates with PC 302 wages, flexi-jobs and the 650-hour student quota for 2026 instead of estimating.

What the model costs you, without turning into a numbers game

ResDiary publishes its tiers, and credit where it is due: you can check it without calling a rep first. How it is built is worth working out in advance though. The entry tier carries a monthly booking ceiling; grow past it and you move up a tier. SMS, Event Manager and Pre-orders are each a separate paid add-on on top of your tier. There is a setup fee, usually waived on an annual contract — a fair trade for a venue that knows it is staying, a threshold for one still deciding. There is no free trial; there is a demo. The exact amounts are in the table below, with the date we read them off their own pricing page.

With us: €0 up to 10 staff, €19 a month for Pro with unlimited staff, €39 for Ultra with multi-venue. No setup fee, no add-on stack, cancel monthly. Prices excl. VAT. And what you get on that free plan is not only the booking button — it is the schedule underneath it.

Where ResDiary beats us

We have no yield management: no algorithm assigning tables by expected spend or optimising your room across the evening. We cannot take deposits or pre-payments, and for a fine-dining address with expensive no-shows that is a real difference. Their table plan is graphical and ours is not — we work with capacity per time slot and a table preference as free text.

Beyond that: no Event Manager for private dining, no pre-orders arriving before service, no Dish Cult marketplace, and nothing resembling their library of till and PMS integrations. We send no SMS, email only. There is no iPhone app; our app is on Google Play, on iOS the schedule runs in the browser or from your home screen. And guest reminder emails sit in our Pro plan (€19 a month), not the free one.

The honest summary: on reservations alone, ResDiary beats us on most rows. On "what is tonight costing me and who is on the floor", there is no row of theirs to win.

Questions we get a lot

Can I move my ResDiary data across?

You export your guest file from ResDiary as CSV and import it with us. ResDiary offers a data export on contract termination — ask for it explicitly in your cancellation letter. We do not move historical reservations across; they stop being useful after a few months anyway. Start clean from the week you switch.

I need deposits to cut no-shows. Can you do that?

No. We are not in the payment flow between you and your guest, so we cannot take a deposit or a pre-payment. ResDiary can. If a no-show costs you a table of four on a Saturday night, that is a good reason to stay with them — or to use us for the floor and them for the door.

Is the ResDiary setup fee really that steep?

There is one, and on an annual contract it is usually waived. The amount is in the table below with the date we checked it; ask them for your own quote, because it varies per venue. For a new venue still evaluating it is a threshold either way, especially since there is no free trial. With us there is no setup fee and you start today.

Does SuperHoreca send SMS confirmations?

No. Only email confirmations from your own from-address, with double opt-in. SMS costs per message and email solves it fine for normal café volume. With ResDiary SMS is a paid add-on on top of the tier anyway, so it is never genuinely "included".

Same time as a ResDiary demo: 30 minutes. Difference: no setup fee, no annual contract, and next week’s schedule comes with it. Make an account, paste the widget on your site, put the schedule next to it, and after a month decide which part you want where.
